Hi, I am Courtney from Hawley. I've been modeling with the Academie Agencie for only 3 years. I've had the opportunity to do runway, promotional modeling, and a number of photoshoots. But my best experience yet is just getting back from New York City. I just spent 2 weeks in NY getting my book ready for an agency that in met and auditioned with at AMTC,. Stacey Lentz, my director at the Academie thought I should audition for large market opportunities at AMTC. I did and now, the Academie thought that I should write a journal of what I did each day in NY as a new model...like that it would be useful for other new models. Here it is...
Day 1...Met the great gal was was willing to open her home for me and my mom. She showed us how to use the subway. It was all alittle foriegn!
Day 2...Met with my new agency. I spent an hour being interviewed and auditioned. Then, they prepared me for the next days photoshoot. They made me try on all my clothes...and, they liked everything I brought...thanks Academie. I felt prepared!
Day 3...Photoshoot Day. I dressed simple cute with no makeup for the shoot. The makeup artist was ready and did a complete makeover. I just love the style. It was very fresh but also sexyish if you know what I mean! I shot and shot with a number of looks. I had a great time!
Day 4-8...Sightseeing...Statue of Liberty, World Trade Center, the museums, everything...my feet!
Day 9...Went to pick up pictures from the photoshoot at the photographers place...which is an apartment. We had two dogs walking around the shoot the whole time! We ordered some prints.
Day 10...Met with the agency to discuss my pictures. The agency said that I had a bunch to pick from. They showed me the pictures they liked. The next step is creating a card. They said they have a client interested in seeing my pictures..yeh!
Day 11...Last day, I bought flowers for my roommate. They were the biggest bouquet I could find! She love them and told me that I was welcome back to her place anytime.
Day 14...Met my mother agent, Stacey at the Academie. She wanted to see my pictures from NY. She chose the pictures she liked the most out of my proofs. She also booked me on a job, that a model had mischeduled herself on, so I called my agent in NY and gave him the proof numbers I liked and I was off to a job.
So, life is exciting. I am having fun doing something I really enjoy. 'Livin the dream!
